EMF from grounding water pipe

Using a Tri-field meter, I found a field running under my office desk and through the hallway. Mitch came to assess and confirmed a significant level of EMF there. He recommended putting in a grounding plate to replace grounding on the water pipe and also to interrupt the water supply pipe with a plastic insert. The field was still present after the grounding was changed but was totally eliminated once the water pipe was interrupted with plastic.
