Riun Ashlie, EMRS (pronounced “Ryan”)
Riun Ashlie is a Certified Electromagnetic Radiation Assessment Specialist (EMRS) with more than 10 years of hands-on experience measuring, assessing, and helping mitigate electromagnetic field exposures in homes, offices, farms, schools, and commercial buildings.
EMF assessment and mitigation
As part of EMF Aware, Riun supports clients with technical EMF assessment and mitigation guidance across a wide range of environments. His work focuses on identifying and addressing major EMF exposure sources, including AC magnetic fields, AC electric fields, radiofrequency (RF) and wireless radiation, and dirty electricity.
Riun brings a practical, field-based approach to EMF work, helping clients better understand their environments and prioritize meaningful reduction strategies. He has extensive experience measuring EMFs in real-world settings and supporting practical mitigation solutions for homes, offices, farms, and other occupied spaces.
Background
Born and raised on a farm near Coronation, Alberta, Riun has an unusually broad technical and experiential background. His career has included work in construction, oil well drilling, oil and gas production engineering, and applications design engineering, giving him a strong understanding of buildings, systems, and applied problem solving. This background supports his technical EMF work, where accurate measurement, source identification, and practical mitigation planning are essential.
A broader lens
In addition to his technical experience, Riun has spent many years studying the nervous system, stress physiology, trauma, and healing through advanced somatic and therapeutic training. This broader background contributes to a more complete understanding of how environmental stressors, including EMFs, can affect people differently - especially those who are highly sensitive or already dealing with chronic stress or nervous system dysregulation.
