WHERE MOST PEOPLE START
You have read something worrying and you cannot tell how much of it applies to you.
That is the normal starting point, and it is a measurement problem before it is a health question. Reading about EMF online tells you nothing about your own bedroom. A meter in the hands of someone who knows what the reading means does.
The goal is not a house with zero exposure. No such house exists, and chasing one is how people spend a great deal of money on very little. The goal is knowing what you actually have, what is causing it, and what a sensible fix costs.

ELECTRICAL EMFS
AC electric fields
Caused by electrical pressure - voltage - present in building wiring near beds and desks, whether or not current is flowing. Usually the easiest category to reduce and the one most often overlooked.
Dirty electricity
Caused by electrical noise - high-frequency disturbance riding on the normal current, sometimes called microsurge electropollution. Measured with oscilloscope-based instruments, not a screening meter.
WIRELESS EMFS
Radiofrequency
Wi-Fi, cordless phones, smart meters, cell sites and the devices already in the room. Source proximity matters more than anything on the horizon.
LIGHT
Light
Not an EMF, but checked the same visit: flicker, spectrum and smart-lighting behaviour in the rooms you use most.

Will you tell me EMFs are making me ill?
No. That is a medical question and it is not ours to answer. What an assessment gives you is measured exposure levels in your own home, the sources causing them, and practical options. What you do with that, medically or otherwise, is between you and your practitioner.
Do I need to buy shielding products?
Usually not. The most common findings are a wiring error, a device placement, or a setting that can be changed at no cost. Shielding is occasionally the right answer and it is expensive, so it comes last, after the source has been identified.
What does an assessment cost?
It depends on the size of the home, how much of it you want covered, and which consultant does the work ($200 to $250/hr). A typical home in the 4 to 6 hour range runs $800 to $1,500 plus GST. Smaller homes, apartments and condos can take less time and cost less, while homes with three or more bedrooms or a large amount of square footage can take longer. Do I have to give up Wi-Fi and my phone?
No. Almost nobody does, and advice that starts there tends not to survive contact with real family life. The useful question is which devices matter, where they sit, and when they run.
