Background

Before EMF work, I spent 9 years as an industrial electrical engineer in power plants and oil and gas, most recently as Principal Engineer at Ready Engineering Corporation.

How I got here

My wife became sensitive to EMFs after we moved into a 600 sq. ft. condo in downtown Calgary in 2010. She has a medical and environmental-medicine background, and ran a battery of lab tests trying to work out why she was becoming chronically ill and being jolted awake every night.

That went on for months, until she bought an EMF meter, thinking her new clinic space was the source. The day it arrived, she told me the readings in our condo were off the charts. We moved a few weeks later, and she got better almost immediately.

With an electrical engineering background, that was enough to pull me in. I took courses on home EMF inspection through the Building Biology Institute, started performing assessments for family and friends in 2011, and completed my Building Biology Electromagnetic Radiation Specialist certification in 2012.

Who I work with

Most of my clients today are health-conscious individuals referred by integrative medical doctors, functional medicine doctors, and licensed naturopathic doctors.

Most assessments today are run by Riun Ashlie, a Certified Electromagnetic Radiation Assessment Specialist (EMRS) with more than 10 years of hands-on EMF measurement and mitigation experience, working to the same protocol. That frees me up for the larger technical projects and Building Biology Institute teaching below.
